I keep wondering - at what point does USD start factoring into this? It actually has been pretty surprising to see USD continue to be so weak given the very strong recovery in the stock market and at least a stabilisation of sorts in the bond market.

Agreed. But it could reflect the Trump view that the US dollar is overvalued... and governments accepting that view

Great piece Russell. Its funny, I just listened to one of those Taggert Thoughtful money pieces and he has a technicial on that said exactly the same thing. Check it out. Dude thinks gold could go to $8k....this year as stock rolls over. Most techncials just keep to the charts. This guy had some very interesting political and economic thoughts to go along with.
