I just got back from a 4 day trek in Japan, most it spent alone. Why did being alone feel so good?
Great post Russell… The road less traveled… always more difficult… but the mental rewards are 🔥
Visit West Virginia and write about that!
Can you recommend a trail?
Allegheny Trail. See https://www.wvscenictrails.org; WV portion of Appalachian Trail near historic Harper’s Ferry; Greenbriar River Trail (https://wvstateparks.com/park/greenbrier-river-trail/)
Looks amazing - will add to bucket list
Great post mate, looks like an awesome trip.
Enjoyed the post!
In general, I don't like to do things everyone else does and but never linked it to active vs passive before. Also, I need to try traveling alone.
🚶🏽♂️👍🏼
Enjoyed the piece! I have a couple of week long hikes on my travel itinerary to Europe. I am sure I won't be alone even on less well traveled trails in Europe (compared to here in NZ).
New Zealand and Australia give you properly remote hikes.. hiking near Canberra was easy, but with not many people around
