Seems obvious but the faster speed of work processes over 40-50 years (i.e. deflationary landscape) has ultimately made having a family younger harder. I don't see that pace slowing so a spike in population is doubtful unless technology (and policy as you mention) develops for more later in life pregnancies.
That technology exists. I think outside of Israel there is no broad consensus that population growth is a good thing - which is a very reasonable view to have. Politically I sense most people in the UK would see a doubling of the population as not necessarily good.
Usually technology gets more affordable in time. Doesn’t seem to be the case with IVF and storage on Hartley Street in particular.
In a non conspiracy theorist way you should look at excess deaths as part of your data set. Funeral Directors near me are up 18% now compared to 2019 levels.
